We aim to minimise adverse impacts upon the local and ultimately, global environment. ASM Engineering has undergone a process of change and continuous improvement through personal commitment and desire to operate a best practice organisation.
We strive for simple and effective systems to create universal understanding. Strong lines of communication and a culture of openness between management and the workforce are the essential keys to the minimisation of risk. Worker involvement in the choices made regarding PPE and systems standards has proven invaluable in achieving a consistently enforced and consistently upheld minimum PPE standard on all our projects.
In order to achieve excellence in health and safety performance our people need to know that we care, and they need to care about each other, we have a philosophy of 'being our own and each others safety advisor', we teach our employees to feel confident and comfortable in approaching each other and their managers on safety matters.
ASM operate strict Health & Safety procedures verified by an independent third party.
ASM also operate a programme of continual development and learning amongst our employees.
We employ a consultant Health & Safety advisor and manager, Chris Turner BSc (Hons) CMIOSH MIIRSM, and a in house qualified Health & Safety co-ordinator.
For each contract, ASM develop a site specific Health & Safety plan which is not generic, utilising specific method statements and risk assessments for all areas and tasks.
Our project managers are provided with a Site Health & Safety File and ASM comply with our clients site rules/procedures i.e. inductions, award schemes, KPI’s, safety meetings, start cards, near miss cards etc.
